Hi Mr. Flyman....our Master Evil...hehe I will translate those reviews for you tonight and I will post them here for your enjoyment. But, I can tell you from what I already read in the first review, that they think "exactly" like me!!!.....They labeled Evil Masquerade music as "virtuoso" compositions...The word "Virtuoso" came back when talking about Evil Masquerade and it's music.....hmmmmmm Cheers!! Howdy!! Here I am with the first of the two reviews.... I will go ahead and post this one and come back later with the second one. This way you can get the scope in the first one faster.
So....here it goes:
EVIL MASQUERADE - THEATRICAL MADNESS
This is Evil Masquerade's second work, and their third work (Third Act) is now very close of being released. Evil Masquerade is a Danish group whose techniques include a mixture of Power and Progressive style with a very high level of musical composition. Their first Album "Welcome To The Show" was more than a very promising debut, this Album showed the highest levels of quality in every sense. A level that luckily was maintained with their successor (the 2nd Album).
This is an Album filled with virtuosity in all its angles, son hachas of 6 strings (don't know what they mean by that, but I imagine is some very nice compliment about your guitar) the Drum sound is far from monotonous in their rythm and the composition is one of true Artists. The vocals does his work without trying to be the most outstanding and overshadowing the other instruments. It doesn't give special rings, doesn't sing too low or to high of a pitch of the kind that would give you "goose bumps", but it adapts well to the style allowing the sounds of his voice to fuse and integrate perfectly with the rest of the instruments in the group.
There are some music groups that they have started as just a group of friends, getting together for some fun...as they learn how to play, they eventually find some success and also find themselves progressing into something more, then....they explore new things and then they become Musicians (Not all of them, since to play music it is not necessary that you are a musician), but these people are the ones considered, in capital letters MUSICIANS.
I don't know how to comment on each individual song, because the Album is actually of a global nature. Not one song is above the other, for which reason it is required to rate this Album as a whole. Therefore, I will try to continue giving my impressions in a more global sense, not only of this Album but also of the group in general.
It is an Album of very fast pace, with many elaborated choruses, infinite rythm changes and inclusive of the style of each individual song, creating the atmosphere which is well manifested in its cover, theatrical. The album as a whole is like a grand show, such as that of "Moulin Rouge". It evokes a true theater spectacle with different touches of comedy, drama......
It is not an easy, simple group, but they enter quickly, they are full of surprises in every moment, and, I repeat that every Album is a Masterpiece as a whole, without one aspect overshadowing another. Let's just say that it does not have one song that is outstanding over the other, in fact, just listening to one individual song would not produce the same impact as if listening to the entire Album (I had to adjust the wording to give the exact meaning of his writing).....Hey, but if you don't know them yet, I recommend starting with "Welcome To The Show"
......The translation of the second link will be done shortly......I will be back when I have it done.
Cheers and Enjoy!!!!
Lily :-)

Okay Henrik....Here is the second review.... Let me explain first that this was not an easy one to translate for me because there were two words I did not know the meaning, and even when I looked in the Dictionary, it still did not make much sense to me....These two words unfortunatelly were two key words, since they kept coming up in the entire review. Maybe Lonewolf know the meaning and he could fix my sort of.....not too good translation...sniff, sniff.... But anyhow, here it is and maybe you are able to make up some of the meaning. But be warned that it won't be easily understood....I was not able to do not even a half good translation....sorry.... Take care, Lily ============== Evil Masquerade - Third Act the devil´s last temptation -third act -black ravens cry -descended from the grave -far away -the dark minstrel plays -I´ll make you burn -under the surface of water -orchestration for more than one horn -bring on the world -final goodbye I have two things to say, first, This band is the second band that has received our reviews in our review-section and second, that this is Evil Masquerade third work. I became acquainted with this group from the second review that was made by our friend vsaldanya (I wonder what has been of this man???) and the truth is that it was a good guide, due to the fact that the characteristics presented then are very much in tune with this latest study release, a great instrumental of instrumental performance, forming a killer group above virtuoso individualities, and it can be seen very clearly that they are cracks (great) with their own. A brilliant production and with vocals that far from trying to become outstanding, it adapts to the group as a whole, the same is for the power as for the heavy of a lifetime going through fields of more selective progression....it is what I call a singer for all fields. I don't know how it is in the previous CD, since I was not able to capture it, but this one, of course, it is beyond commendable, it is very, very good and original. We have from its own metal power, dosis of the most exquisite rythms soundwise slow but killer...going into curious pieces such as the last song "Final Goodbye", a ballad but with a melody and derroteros (?) more appropriate of other musical styles, and a vocal execution that is an incredible display of feelings, I don't know, very theatrical (Doing the honors to those concepts representing their Albums, something that seems to be a very common factor in their carreer). But, of course, the best is at the beginning. After the introduction, an incredible display of metal power of the finest quality and very selected, a tremendous "Third Act" a gallopant rythm, very crystal clear and with a "estribillo" (guitar riff? not sure of the meaning) with a killer melody, very dynamic and accelerated. The next theme is equally dynamic, again displaying the maximum, an amazing "Black Ravens Cry" which after a slow sound comes back with a beautiful stribillo, melodious, solemn and brutally sticky, with a magestic aura in its presentation that makes my skin crawl. Of course, these two tracks are the best of the Album, together with "The Dark Mistrel Plays" with that curious and spotless guitar work ( ;D), and again, the incredibly melodious and luxurious estribillo (what is estribillo? Riff?? Lonewolf..S.O.S. ) that is fused with the rest of a song which only shows the high level of quality of this people, which, like I have said before, they work as a team for the benefit of the group, leaving behind any actions of personal showing off, which usually causes the fall of el "peñazo", which is what ruins the songs, and which is something that happens to too many groups (right Mr. malmsteen?) Beautiful and precise matresses of keyboads - through out the song, to give it the needed density to the theme's body. Really great. And these are the three Masterpieces of the Album, even though the rest of the Album is not bad...no. And, it is that along the length of the listening period, gives you the thoughts of music from ramalazos of Dio to pieces of yngwie malmsteen, this last one especially, with themes such as "Descended From The Grave", which can bring memories of the best years of the Swedish, or the same with "I'll Make You Burn", slow cadencia (sound ?), crushing, it has brought me memories of those days of older jewels such as "I'm A Viking" or "Pyramid of Keops", both Swedish, but from different times. "Bring On The World" has more of a "modern" movement, with a principle where all the instruments seem to be showered with certain dosis of synthetization and a estribillo ( ) the simplest of the Album, and far away it moves in a much slower pace, making me think more of the sounds of the 80's from bands in plan r.d. dio. So well, it is a very good group, which I got to know thanks to other forum members (Do you see how useful is this seccion?)

Hi there Lily, Nice translation, that word you said "estribillo" is used in poems and music it means a phrase that repeat itself at the begining, middle and end of a song or poem, i knew its meaning but since its kind of hard to me to explain in english im gonna quote wikipedia with its definiton : "El estribillo es un recurso poético consistente en un pequeño grupo de versos que se repiten. Tradicionalmente encontramos el estribillo al principio de la composición y repitiéndose al final de cada estrofa. En la canción actual se entiende como estrillo también a una estrofa que se repite varias veces en una composición, en este caso una canción es más rica cuanto menos veces repita el estribillo, dándose el caso de composiciones tan pobres que sólo tienen estribillo sobre una base repetitiva." taken from wikipedia.org See you later Okay Henrik....Here is the second review.... Lily
